All I did was....Home Staging Success Stories

head_left_image

All I did was.. add some character and warmth to a library.

Advantage Staging tries to find that one thing in every home that makes the potential buyer feel a connection to that home.

One way to to do that is to create a room that is a place to get away from everything. To create a refuge from the busy lives that we all lead today.

With that in mind, this is the result at 143 Orleans in Vaughan.

Before the room was spacious and had a work desk but the room was lacking that certain something to make you want to curl up and stay awhile.

All I did was add a chaise lounge, throw, accent cushion and an area rug to ground the vignette.

Nothing says curl up and stay awhile like a chaise lounge. Buyers loved it.  The property was sold in a few days.

Professional staging is the art of touching buyers emotionally to have them see a house as their home.

Investment, minimal.

Impact, priceless.

Remember, staging is always less than the first price reduction.

Very good addition, indeed. Can't you just feel your toes curling up in that rug. I could settle there to read for a while. Good job warming up this great space.

Hi Gretchen, thanks for stopping in to see this cozy library Gretchen. The home owner likes modern things but a shag rug was not on their list of things that they would have bought. After seeing this transformation they couldn't belive how much better the room felt with that bit of texture added to the room.

Michelle ~ You're one smart and savvy stager!  Adding that cozy chaise, accents, and the textured area rug made a huge difference in how buyers would perceive this space.  I'm not at all surprised that this home sold in just a few days!  Congrats on doing such a great job helping your clients!

Michelle - Talk about a comfy couch!  Love the chaise, and wouldn't mind curling up in it myself.  The space certainly looks more inviting now - great job, as usual!

HI Maureen, I know most women cannot resist a chaise lounge. Me included! And to be surrounded by books at the same time is just heaven.

Hi Sally, the room definitely lacked that cozy, comfy feel before the chaise was placed there. The home owners were really quite affected by the change. They wondered how they had not thought to do this while they lived there. I know we hear this all the time from our clients when we stage their homes. What seems so easy for us to do as stagers seems to allude people when they are living in their homes.

Hi Lisa, yes it is the magical power of the chaise to draw the buyers into sitting in the room for awhile. Most people cannot resist the pulll of a chaise! LOL!!

Hi Monica, Thanks it's great to see you back here in the rain as well. We both had an absolutely fabulous year growing our businesses so it was difficult to find the time to do all the things we like to do like being in the rain.  Feels good being back with all the successful stagers across North America. Learning and growing together.

Hi Michelle,

That certainly was just the right touch...  the chaise brought a cozy, comfy feel to the room.  Great job Michelle!

I think I've been asleep at the wheel. Honestly, I don't know how I missed this post.

Your after picture looks like it was taken from a page from Pottery Barn.

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.

Hi Kathy, well that's very high praise indeed!  Thank you for your kind comment about this looking like Pottery Barn.  The feature is very much appreciated.
