Staging Laundry Rooms.... is it in the budget?

Think about it. Does anyone really enjoy doing laundry? Maybe if I had one of those new steam washers, maybe...

How do you make the one room in a house that says work all over it become an appealing destination room in a house? I Stage it with artwork that shows an outside view, put all soaps and cleaners in straight edged baskets to give a uniform, organized look to the room and place a wicker picnic basket and florals on the counter or on top of the dryer to make it look like there is a life after doing the laundry.

The feedback from clients is always positive. They love the artwork in the room and remember the house because of the picnic basket. I use a really old one with real china plates and silverware that I picked up at an auction. Always a conversation starter about the parks in the area and how the new homeowners can enjoy the neighbourhood. Great marketing to get them thinking about moving in.

Professional Home Staging will market the features of your property to stand out from the competition every time.

Investment, minimal.

Impact, priceless.

Michelle!  Laundry Rooms are my favorite - they become jewelry boxes of creativity - LOL!  I used to hang "Laundry Room" signs but can no longer find them at my favorite store, The Christmas Tree Shop.  I now use "renew" signs (similar to "spa") which are found at Home Goods.  Great post!

Staging even the laundry room makes sense.  That is one more possible negative for the buyers removed.

Michelle - Great idea.  Sellers need every advantage they can get.  A clean, organized laundry is certainly more impressive than what one would typically find

I agree that this is a room that should be included in staging...you want to make this room inviting since it does have the negative rap as a place that work must be done..I also like to add a mirror to make the light reflect around the room since they usually are smaller to begin with.

Thank you for the encouragement. The clients usually think that I am out of my mind when I suggest it but after they see the final results they are always impressed and say they will definitely be using the ideas in their new homes.
